OTHER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

PLAYER MOVEMENT- REP: The VTMHA Board has revised its policy with respect to H4-aged players playing at the Atom Rep level.  In previous years, H4 players could apply to try out for Atom rep, but were required to make the A1 team in order to remain in the Atom rep program.  This latter restriction has now been removed.  An H4 player who tries out for the Atom rep program will be entitled to stay with that program so long as he or she obtains a position on any of the Atom rep teams.
The revised policy P11 has now been posted on the VTMHA website –Policies and Procedures (see P11) Please note that there is an application process that includes a written application to the Player Movement Committee with letters of support from coaches.  While the policy provides for a deadline of May 15th for applications to be made, given that this policy change has only recently been enacted the deadline for this year only has been extended to July 15th.
All applications received by July 15th will be reviewed by the Player Movement Committee which will decide which players will be invited to attend the Atom rep tryouts.
Applications should be submitted to the Administrator (tbirdhockey@vancouvertbirds.ca) with a copy to the VP Rep (vprep@vancouvertbirds.ca).  Please direct any questions to Bill Veenstra, VP Rep, at vprep@vancouvertbirds.ca.

PLAYER MOVEMENT - HOUSE:  Requests to play down or up a division can only be entertained by the player’s current Division Manager in conjunction with the Player Movement Committee and approval from President’s League after the Preseason assessment sessions have occurred. A player desiring such a move MUST attend at least 2 of their own division’s scheduled assessment times. Permission can only be granted should space permit in the “desired” division.

HOUSE BALANCING: Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA) has set the deadline for team balancing to December 1st.   The cooperation of all players, parents and coaches is required to ensure that the task can be completed as quickly and fairly as possible. For this very reason the DRAFT policy for all divisions from Hockey 3 and above was recently revised by the Board and will be STRICTLY adhered to.
Please Note: We do our best to accommodate soccer at the Hockey 1, 2, 3 & 4 divisions. However, because of the large number of House teams at each division and the ice constraints that we are faced with it is NOT possible to arrange our teams around soccer for the Atom aged and above players.

EQUAL ICE TIME:  PCAHA demands that all players regardless of playing ability receive equal ice time. This rule is strictly adhered to at House. The policy for Rep teams is applied more generally on a seasonal basis rather than game by game.

ZERO TOLERANCE: Our Association has a zero tolerance policy regarding Harassment and Abuse. Signed Codes of Conduct are required of ALL our coaches, players and parents. If you require more information please contact our Risk Manager/ Harassment & Abuse Officer,.

EQUIPMENT:  Any Association hockey equipment that is intentionally damaged in any way will be billed to that player. Name bars and letters that are not removed without damage to the jerseys will result in forfeiture of the jersey deposit.
